Facebook banned pictures of breastfeeding moms?

From HMS

I have said in the past:
The main people who are offended by breastfeeding, I find, are those who are uncomfortable with the idea of the breast being used for something other than sex. The idea of it being used to feed a child, the fruit of the natural and properly ordered marital act is challenging. Furthermore breastfeeding is hard. To tie the breasts to any act of sacrifice is even more challenging. All of this -- life, nurturing, sacrifice -- is a direct offense to the idea that breasts serve the sole and primary purpose of pleasing "me". That concept of purpose falls well within the subset of the world of selfish and non-fruit bearing sex. The real indignant response to breastfeeding comes from those who could care less whether or not they can SEE the breast.

In that sense it is a powerful ally in the cause of life.

I personally believe it should be highly encouraged because even for the abuses of some, it tells the truth about our purpose. (source)
Obviously I think Facebook is wrong here HOWEVER its their site, their company and they have every right to deal with it in a manner they see fit.

I think facebook was right. It was under their policy so they removed it that's it.By the way what fun does these women find in posting their half nude pictures over internet??Is it for some kind of educational purpose or just for fun?

FWIW I think many of the images they post are imprudent but they are far from vulgar.

They are often no worse than a picture of a woman in a bikini and people have no problems with that. It isn't the half nudity that typically bothers people although on those grounds I could understand the objection. Oppose half nude pictures on Facebook, not just women breastfeeding.

I want to reiterate that almost every instance of indignant anger about breastfeeding I have witnessed came from people who are not violently opposed to nudity. Then again, I know tons of secular minded men. The SI swimsuit issue they like. Breastfeeding is offensive to them. Breastfeeding is confrontational just like large families are confrontational. People don't like to see people doing objectively good things that are difficult. Sacrifice is far more scandalous to the comfortable American than nudity.

I mean, have you seen what they show on network TV? Have you seen pictures Facebook won't ban?

My facebook profile was disabled last week after I posted pictures of me breastfeeding.

I was surprised after I received a warning that my profile picture, which was just a portion of my breast and a portion of my child's face were in violation of the TOU.

In response, I posted a public album with 5 of my personal breastfeeding photos and some artwork from over the centuries.
My profile was disabled that night. After 2 emails, the "facebook team" refuses to re-activate my account.

I guess I could create another facebook account with a different email, but personally I don't feel facebook deserves me. So, I am boycotting facebook for banning my breastfeeding.
